GWSR Heritage Line Welding Project
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway needed its Didbrook to Hayles section ready for the Cheltenham Festival. We welded every other joint alongside the volunteers.
Soil Netting Installation Project
Two IRATA teams, working day and night, stabilised a steep embankment near the River Gary in Perthshire with soil netting, retaining wall work and gabion removal over two 57-hour blockades.
Royal Albert Bridge Examination
Daylight access to the Royal Albert Bridge’s eastern span was limited by few line blockages. Our temporary ATWS let XEIAD examine it continuously in daylight.
Drone Pad Installation
Network Rail’s incident team had been launching drones from a makeshift pad. We built a 4 x 4m drone pad and secure communications unit in eight weeks.
Transport for Wales (TFW) Vegetation Management Project
Bats in the trees constrain vegetation work. On Transport for Wales’ Core Valley Lines, our tree climbers and licensed bat ecologists kept the work safe and legal.
Canal & River Trust Nesting Bird Surveys of Brent Canal
How do you survey nesting birds while a reservoir refills? We supplied an ecologist and a trained canoeist for regular Brent Canal surveys for the Canal & River Trust.
Multiple Access Points
Heavy plant needed safe access to a remote bridge site in Cambridgeshire. We installed six road rail access points and track crossing points either side of the bridge for Taziker.
River Avon Bridge Inspection
Where traditional access wasn’t suitable, rope access was. Our team inspected a railway bridge over the River Avon for Morgan Sindall in three days, identifying defects.
Wharf Road Development
Fourteen new homes, a canal-side site and an expired ecological survey. We updated the survey for Avaro Midlands at Wharf Road, Kings Norton, supporting the planning application.
