Services Delivered

RSS Infrastructure (RSSI) undertook a challenging project to remove vegetation from a railway road bridge and a footbridge. The project, valued at £17,505.00, was completed over three days of Saturday night shifts. The main objective was to clear the overgrown vegetation that hindered inspection and maintenance activities and impeded pedestrian access.

Key Actions

  • Initial Assessment: Thorough site evaluations were conducted to understand the extent of vegetation overgrowth.
  • Planning and Coordination: Engaged in continuous interaction with the client and conducted on-site walks for meticulous planning.
  • Manpower and Training: RSSI deployed a team of six skilled in IRATA Rope Access and Arborist Training and Techniques.
  • Equipment and Access: Determined appropriate access points and rigging requirements, ensuring no need for additional plant requirements.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Implemented safe working practices, emphasising safety and quality in service delivery.

Project Delivery

The project’s success hinged on its innovative approach and meticulous planning. RSSI was engaged to apply IRATA rope access techniques, enabling efficient access to challenging areas. This approach and arborist techniques ensured safe and effective vegetation removal. Key to the project’s success was the strategic planning phase, which involved:
Collaborative Efforts: Working closely with the client to understand and meet their specific needs.
Skilled Manpower Allocation: Ensuring the team was well-trained and equipped to handle the project’s unique challenges.
Rigging and Equipment Strategy: Careful determination of access points and equipment needs to facilitate smooth operation.
Safety First Approach: Prioritizing safety through rigorous training and adherence to safety protocols.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring high standards were met and delivering services right the ‘first time’ while managing risks.
This comprehensive approach allowed RSSI to effectively address the project’s challenges, achieving a successful completion that met all key performance indicators and client expectations.
