Fenix Rail Systems was awarded the contract to install a bespoke depot control system and point machines at the Feltham Train Depot. However, the original contractor hired to carry out the work was behind schedule, which threatened to delay the project completion.
To ensure that the project was completed on time and to the highest standards, Fenix Rail Systems approached RSS Infrastructure to take over the installation, testing, and commissioning of the equipment. RSS Infrastructure provided a Test Strategy and Test Plan, which included the creation and implementation of a comprehensive testing plan, to ensure that the equipment was functioning as intended.
RSS Infrastructure also supplied an installation team to complete the remaining installation works and a testing team to identify and rectify any issues discovered during the testing and commissioning phase.
As a result of the expertise and support provided by RSS Infrastructure, the Feltham Train Depot signalling project was completed ahead of schedule.
The client was able to bring the depot equipment into use earlier than proposed by the original contractor, saving time and money while ensuring that the signalling system was functioning as intended.
