RSS Infrastructure has supplied signalling teams to support Network Rail’s maintenance and minor renewal works at Sheffield Depot as part of the Network Rail Framework Agreement for the Provision of Labour Services. The RSS Infrastructure staff also support the teams in faulting whilst maintaining their planned schedule.
The teams supplied by RSS Infrastructure have the competence to work on various types of signalling equipment, including Track Circuits, Axle Counters, Filament Signals, LED Signals, various Point Operating Equipment, Earth Readings, and Voltage and Current readings. This has enabled Network Rail to complete maintenance and minor renewals, even if faults are reported, which may require some team members to leave to attend.
All the staff supplied by RSS Infrastructure have been issued with the latest version of Network Rail standards, including NR/L3/SIG/10064 General Instructions to Staff Working on S&T Equipment Issue 11, NR/L3/SIG/10663 Signal Maintenance Specifications Issue 15, and NR/L3/SIG/11231 SMTH Work Instruction Issue 17, which they work to on-site.
Overall, the provision of skilled signalling staff has enabled Network Rail to increase the size of their team for day or night shifts, which has led to the successful completion of maintenance and minor renewal works at the Sheffield depot. The competence of the staff supplied by RSS Infrastructure in various signalling equipment and their fault-finding experience has also proved invaluable to Network Rail in carrying out their work efficiently.
