ATWS Increases Safety for AMCO Workforce

RSS Infrastructure (RSSI), a subsidiary of Auctus Management Group, is proud to announce that they are currently aiding AMCO and Network Rail in emergency land slide repairs to reinforce the cliff face in Chalford situated within the Stroud area.

The company has deployed an Automatic Track Warning System (ATWS) on both the up and down kembles to ensure that the AMCO workforce are able to operate in a safe environment whilst they conduct emergency repairs on the banking via rope access.

The systems innovative design encompasses a ‘strike in/strike out’ treadle which is secured at pre-design locations within the track making it ideal for static sites where work groups are operating within a Protected Area, making it ideal for locations such as the Chalford. In this instance, the system has been configured to provide a 45 second audible and visual warning is activated when a train passes over the ‘Strike in’ Treadle. The warning will then remain on until it is automatically deactivated by the same train passing over the ‘Strike Out’ Treadle and cancelling the warning.

The company’s talented planning team used their extensive knowledge and experience to both have the system planned, installed and configured within a week. Installation took place on the 26th January 2017 and was operational by the 30th January 2017.
