Ecologist (South Wales with some UK travel)
What will I be doing?
We seek an experienced and highly motivated Ecologist to support our arboriculture division. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting ecological surveys, producing reports, and providing ecological advice, toolbox talks, watching briefs and support to our vegetation management operatives and clients. The role will involve working on various projects across Wales and England, focusing on environmental impact assessments, habitat management plans, and protected species surveys. On a day to day basis your responsibilities will include:- Conducting ecological surveys and assessments in accordance with relevant legislation, guidelines, and best practice standards.
- Producing high-quality ecological reports, including impact assessments, mitigation strategies, and habitat management plans.
- Providing ecological advice and support to clients, including liaising with statutory bodies, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Managing projects effectively, ensuring deadlines are met and work is delivered to a high standard.
- Undertaking research and keep up to date with developments in ecological science and legislation.
- Contributing to the development of proposals and tenders for new work
What experience would we like you to have?

What will I be doing?
On a day-to-day basis, you will provide support to 4 busy board directors ensuring efficient diary management, email screening, prioritising and filtering and travel planning. You will work closely with the Directors to ensure that all business plans and actions are recorded, implemented and reviewed, allowing Directors to focus on business and client development. Organising meetings, preparing presentations / documents and minute taking. On a day to day basis your responsibilities will include:- Ensuring time is created for the Directors to work on the growth of the business and not work “in the business”. Removing non-essential tasks and administration.
- Preparation of presentations, reports and measuring KPIs.
- Confidential minute taking, preparation of documents and reports, email management (sifting and responding where appropriate).
- Attending events to represent the business as and when necessary.
- Fully supporting Directors in the implementation and management of business plans. Managing the action logs to ensure all agreed actions are prioritised and completed, liaison with the necessary Directors or Heads of Department, to chase outstanding actions.
- Telephone answering, management of diaries including co-ordinating meetings and events.
- Co-ordinating and planning all travel and hotel requirements for the Company, managing the cost and centralising control and management of the process.
- Ensuring Directors 1-2-1 meeting are scheduled and completed and copies of action logs/reviews are held on file centrally for HR records.
- Where required, attend training and competency development courses as directed by the Company.
- Achieving, as a minimum, the objectives and KPI’s set by the Directors. Contributing to the continued success of the business, and in particular the EA job role, by participating in open and honest discussions with the Directors.
- Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of self and others who may be affected by acts or omissions related to your work. Co-operating fully with the management of the Company with regards to any duty or requirement imposed on them by the relevant Health and Safety legislation to allow that duty or requirement to be carried out or complied with. - Where directed, completing any tasks as required by the business across the Group companies to ensure compliance, safety and business continuity.
What experience would we like you to have?
To be selected for interview for this role, your application should demonstrate significant experience in a EA / PA role including- Expert knowledge and experience of using MS Office products including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

What will I be doing?
As part of our busy Account Development team, you will play a key role in ensuring the department achieves the minimum target of 5 different RSSI services for each client, ensuring the company is an embedded part of the client’s supply chain. You will work with the Senior Management Teams and other business development team members to generate, manage and convert a sustainable pipeline of work that reflects the current and anticipated Business Plan. You will have a thirst for research and intelligence gathering, the interpretation and communication of data and the preparation and implementation of appropriate action plans within the organisation to promote the services provided to our clients. On a day-to-day basis, your duties will involve the following:- Working collaboratively with senior management to build the divisional unit business plans
- Researching to understand the separate business units and product drivers of the sector, customer, key stakeholders and opportunities
- Understanding the current macroeconomic conditions and market trends to ensure that key risks and opportunities are identified
- Maintaining an accurate pipeline of work on the CRM system to ensure accurate forecasting of business volume for the SMT
- Keeping the CRM system current by adding opportunities and contacts.

- Maintaining sector and customer account plans
- Delivering targeted sales growth within sector/customers
- Ensuring that all customers have signed commercial contracts/terms of business in place before any work commences.
- Ensuring that all documentation is professionally maintained/delivered and stored in compliance with company policy
- Preparing programmes of external communication, customer engagement and brand promotion that will contribute to the achievement of the business’s objectives
- Reviewing, collating and reporting on spend and penetration levels by site and customer, identifying any underperformance against the agreed SLA and addressing such matters with the operational team
- Meeting with nominated client representatives to report and present management information and project progress.
- Where necessary, representing the business at conferences, trade fairs and networking events throughout the UK.
- Personally visiting ‘key’ locations to review performance.

Controller of Site Safety (COSS), Newcastle
What will I be doing?
- Lead from the front in performing all duties and mentor new operatives.
- Ensure that the health and safety of all workers are signed onto the Safe System of Work pack.
- Ensure that all works are completed to the highest levels of quality and that issues relating to the completion of work escalate to the client supervisor and RSSI Rail Manager.
- Fully brief all workgroup members on all aspects of the SSOW pack, ensuring they sign the SSOW pack following the brief.
- Record all close calls on the RSSI app.
- Ensure that all non-attendance is reported to the RSSI Resource Team or Out of Hours service.
- Ensure all staff are in full PPE, including face masks and goggles, when signing in at Site Access.
- To ensure that hand-arm vibration sensors (HAVS) are utilised by the workgroup when operating small plant tools.
- Respond to all instructions and queries from RSSI clients and Rail Managers calmly and professionally.
- Undertake any other duties, as requested by RSSI clients and RSSI management when requested, provided these are safe.
