The Welding division offers a service that is unrivalled within the rail sector and has a reputation for delivering high productivity rates. The senior management team has over 100 years’ experience in the rail welding sector assisting in the delivery of high profile projects across the UK. Our superior client relationships have been created on a foundation of honesty and trust and have led to the Welding division being the longest-serving Network Rail (NWR) welding sub-contractor. We deliver over 9,000 welds each year with 99% of all welds being approved the first time.

Highly Skilled and Experienced Welders

We employ over 70 highly skilled and experienced welders, which are split into teams, located in Alnwick, Doncaster, Newport, Romford and Stoke-on-Trent. Our commitment to training and development means we are currently training staff as Level 1-3 Stressing officers. This competency provides individuals with the knowledge and practical skills to be able to stress all types of rail within the rail industry.

Welding Services

We can provide the following welding services:

  • All aspects of Aluminothermic welding: RT 1-4 and TW 1-5 including extensive experience welding inner-city tram systems and crane rail
  • Aluminothermic weld inspection
  • Manual Metal Arc [MMA]: MMA 1-5
  • Oxy/Acetylene and Oxy/Propane burning of rails and structures
  • RCF grinding teams with GSM’s
  • SO53/54 Switch & Crossing grinding and Inspection
  • Verse Testing – a non-destructive way to measure the Stress-Free Temperature (SFT) of Continuously Welded Rail (CWR) and ensure management of track buckling and rail break risk
