What will I be doing?
As our Fleet Manager you effectively manage all matters relating to fleet of 162 vehicles in day-to-day company operations. We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager with the expertise and knowledge to take overall responsibility for effective management of the company fleet, including allocation, maintenance and logistics of vehicles as well as taking responsibility for all matters relating to compliance, including vehicle condition and driver checks, fatigue management and vehicle servicing and repair. On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all vehicles are legally compliant and have the necessary insurance in place;
- Ensuring that all drivers are aware of their responsibilities, including the necessary vehicle checks.
- Introducing a robust vehicle inspection system in order to manage and monitor regularly the condition of all vehicles.
- Proactively managing internal vehicle repair process to ensure best value for money across entire fleet including daily/weekly rentals/long term hire/lease and provide detail of repair estimates/costs, report on trends and suggest ways to reduce costs.
- Ensuring all vehicle incidents/accidents are investigated with support from line management
- Undertaking quarterly assessment of policies/procedures to ensure they remain appropriate and compliant with industry legislation.
- Managing and monitoring the fuel spend for every department to ensure best value and ensure this is communicated as necessary.
- Ensuring all driving licence checks are carried out and maintained in accordance with insurance requirements.
- Ensuring tracker information is maintained, and data/discrepancies are investigated where necessary.
- Holding regular vehicle utilisation reviews with operational managers to ensure efficiency of the fleet operation and ensure best practice is followed by all departments.
- Managing the vehicle invoicing process for rental vehicles and approve/pass for payment as necessary.
- Managing vehicle supplier’s performance in line with agreed KPIs, on a quarterly basis and where necessary identifying supplemental supply chain partners.
- Reviewing the technology used by RSS vehicles and suggest improvements where appropriate.
- Working in tandem with insurance brokers to manage and process all vehicle insurance claims and report on findings and costs as required.
- Maintaining a database of all drivers who have completed driver awareness training.
- Investigating ways of reducing emissions and widening the company’s offering of fuel free alternatives.
- Developing new processes such as pre-driver assessment.
What experience would we like you to have?
We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager with a minimum of 2 years previous experience. Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate
- Experience in logistics, procurement, and supply chain management.
- Evidence in accident/incident investigation
- A particular interest in driver behaviour and how this area is positively managed.
- Fatigue Management Awareness
