    Birmingham Based – Full Time permanent position, up to £32.5k plus competitive benefits package

    Our client is a team of planning, design and construction specialists building a number of new tram extensions across the West Midlands. Formed in 2016 to transform the West Midlands by delivering the best integrated transport system for the future. We work hard to be a best practice organisation, delivering stakeholder-focused services as it plans and delivers five Metro extensions across the region for the West Midlands Combined Authority.

     

    What will I be doing?

    Our client is seeking an experienced Document Controller who will be the principal gateway for the issue and receipt of all controlled project specific information. You will work with a managed document control system (ProjectWise) in a BIM environment. On a day to day basis your duties will include:

    • Supporting the team with document control requirements via use of software (Bentley Projectwise)
    • Downloading and uploading design information as required to project portals/extranets
    • Issuing drawings as required by project teams with transmittal sheets
    • Receiving information from external parties, logging them, distributing to project team as required and file in accordance with IMS procedures
    • Setting up and maintain project filing systems
    • Ensuring all documentation meets formal requirements and required standards. Maintain, monitor and feedback to colleagues on the QA status of the information prior to issue.
    • Providing technical assistance and support to engineers and technicians in response to their specific requirements.
    • Coordinating flow of information both from and to the Project Team i.e. TQ process.
    • Production of reports and meeting Outputs on time and to quality relevant to the targeted audience, including liaison with internal and external stakeholders to correctly capture, assign and seek progress updates on actions.
    • Collation of data / information to support team as required.

     

    What hours will I be expected to work?

    Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.

     

    What experience would we like you to have?

    In order to be selected for interview for this role

    • You MUST have previous experience working as a document controller in a construction or engineering environment.
    • Experience using BIM document control system along with an understanding of processes and techniques is essential.
    • IT literacy and competency in programmes such as MS Office and Excel.
    • Attention to detail is essential, you must be well organised and be able to work under pressure and complete tasks within tight deadlines.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
